I agree with you wholeheartedly. It may be true that drivers have said "no" to a home level 2 charger, but that's foolishness. It costs similar to an upgraded entertainment system, which many think they can't live without. Chevrolet was including this home charging upgrade at one point.
But even without plug-in, hybrid is the way to go. I'll never regret buying my used hybrid, and fortunately I bought it January 2020, ahead of all the madness.
