This is so sadly true. I think celebrity worship has led to this. Leaders, heroes are picked based on the sensations they create. Good manners and strong character disappear. The lemmings are appalled only by the ones they disagree with. Their celebrity heroes get a pass - on everything!
You're not that old, Steve. The destruction of the nuclear family is nearly complete. The absence of discipline in school is long gone. The respect for elders and authority figures like police officers is also, just about gone. When college coaches are tasked with recruiting the strongest, the fastest, the most physically gifted athletes they can find for the team.....intelligence, manners and self discipline is probably not on their checklist. A lack of engaged fathers, caused by government handouts to families without fathers — an experiment that started in the 1960s — is the root cause of this destruction of decorum in society and the 'general destruction of' society. These programs that incentivize broken families need to be phased out, and discipline in the schools (school choice, not public "schools") needs to be the order of the day. Rebuilding families with engaged fathers needs to happen yesterday. This is a big issue these days, and it gets worse every day — the normalization of rude, violent, and oftentimes criminal behavior. We *ARE* going the WAY OF ROME (as in the rise and *FALL* of Rome). Not just because we spend money we don't have, but because we have allowed destructive, inappropriate behavior to become normalized. I want a person in the White House who is prioritizing restoring our lives to a situation where the American Dream is again achievable, and where social norms are brought back. The Marxists have been working for decades to destroy our country by eliminating the nuclear family, by changing community norms of decency, by changing our language, by twisting our history. It is obvious the socialist/commies have been largely successful in tearing down our culture and society. This has been accomplished by infiltrating our schools and recruiting candidates who do not abide by our Constitution and Bill of Rights. We have been blind to this transformation. We have been apathetic when we have spotted these changes. We must resist and not accept or comply with these changes. Time is running out to reverse course and bring America back to its former self.
