Healthcare is expensive mostly due to greed. Every company involved in healthcare are motivated by the bottom line. Steve, you know, follow the money. Every medicine, every medical device is many times more expensive because the word medical is involved. The other driver, which goes back to the buck, is that medicine is geared towards treatment, not the cure or origin. Treatment is ongoing, whereas a cure is final. You make a good point that healthcare is less expensive for the healthy (well, yeah, they don't need care). People are sick (and overweight) because the government allows food to be produced which is purposely not healthy (and manufactured to make people eat more). They are sick because, as I just said, they are given medicines which treat the symptoms not the causes (and those drugs often have side effects which cause more illness and more treatment). Junk food is cheap, which is what the poor (and disappearing middle class) can afford. The whole medical system is designed to be expensive and designed to fail. The government has aided and abetted the failure of healthcare. As you well know, billions and billions of dollars have been spent finding the "cure" for cancer for 100 years. Cures for cancer by now should be fast, reliable and cheap. Why is cancer treatment still expensive, destructive and hit or miss? Follow the dollar.
Congratulations to Junior for his accomplishment. He is lucky to have great parents who have raised him properly (with a work ethic), done a great job home schooling and guiding him. You are proud as you should be.
Thank you Freedom! Spot on analysis! We must change this! And thanks for Junior and all my kids, very blessed! And blessed with great childhood friends! !
Smart young man...obviously, the apple didn't fall too far from the tree!
Excellent subject matter that you and Jimmy were discussing and but being a Medicare broker, I know firsthand just how out of control the pricing can be on certain prescriptions. You are 100 pct correct that a law needs to be passed that doesn't allow other countries' citizens to get OUR pharmaceuticals at cheaper prices that we do. That's just completely wrong.
Well done Laffeys !
