I joined famous economist Larry Kotlikoff on his well listened and respected podcast last week. Not only a great economist, but one of my closest friends.
I just finished listening to this entire video. I love Larry. He is a bright guy with a kindness to his voice and a gentleness to his spirit. I love you. Have loved you and your family for many years now. I admire you. You are a very smart, and confident man who is also a very courageous man. You are a speaker of truth, and that based not simply on a hip-shoot or a blind-gut-feeling (although a well place hip shot does come in handy at times), but rather on a well read sense of history (politics, the dollar, monetary policy, raw math skills, godliness, etc.), and a hands-on experience with all things financial that is matched with a gift from God; to some how decipher the tea leaves and make wise decisions before other lesser individuals do. It’s a gift from God that many just don’t understand because they are not believers. I thank God for all of this. Okay, back to the your conversation with Larry. Larry seemed to think that you would just agree with him regarding DJT and DOGE, and he was right to a very small degree. To a large degree it sounded to me that your problem with DJT is not with his desire to stop stupid government spending (like still paying out SS, Gov Contract, Gov Pension, etc. payments today to dead people), or end corruption in the regulatory state, but rather that his pay-to-play MO is actually fascism. Another thing I noticed during this video was the clarity and comprehensive nature of your answers, many of which left the host almost unable to speak. I am not trying to be hurtful or mean to Larry. He just seemed to have not thought about some of these things before. Okay, time to wrap this up. This is the problem. We all tend to have a very limited understanding of everything, and we all also tend to have a limited understanding of even our own area of expertise. This is reality. You are a keen financial expert. You have been for a long time. You have not only theorized your financial expertise but you have experimented (with failures and successes along the way) many key truths with how these things work. Thanks for sharing some of your wisdom today. I now also know the source of how “DJ Diamond” got her name.
