Will The Media Just Allow "Presidential Candidates" to Say Things That are Simply Wrong?
While V.P. Pence, and Gov DeSantis may be doing the best they can with what they know, Wokeness did not cause SVB to collapse.
I just got off a great radio show in New Hampshire. The host wanted know what I thought of former V.P. Pence’s blaming the SVB bank failure on wokeness. V.P. Pence was on his show last week. (At the 19:00 mark)
I am amazed at what government officials are saying about this topic. Besides Pence’s comments, Florida Governor and potential Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis added similar commentary to the debate, declaring the following: “I mean, this bank, they’re so concerned with DEI and politics and all kinds of stuff. I think that really diverted from them focusing on their core mission,”.
Of course, pinning bank closure on wokeness is an untrue assumption. Along with most financial crises, the Silicon Valley Bank failure came from the mismatching of assets and liabilities in duration and/or amount. This is a financial problem, not a social one.
We cannot find real solutions without both a financial expert and a team of knowledgeable leaders. As I said at my presidential announcement, there is a great financial disaster hitting our country NOW. And when it happens, we may never recover.
Unfortunately, our great country will not make a move to solve this financial problem without doing three things: First, we must stop bringing false information to the media and the population. We must stop placating people with falsehoods. Second, we must discuss the actual problems, rather than blaming our problems on unconnected topics. Finally, we must concentrate on these issues until they are solved.
As I keep repeating, the future must be made better for our children. We are watching that future crumble before our eyes. We believe we have an informed plan and the commitment to solve it! The mission is clear. Go to stevelaffey.com.
