While Steve Laffey Runs For President, His Daughter Jessica Runs for V.P. of Colorado State University
Should you judge a candidate by looking at the children he and his wife are/have raising/raised? I would say "yes".
Jessica Laffey is a lot of things. While she should be a junior in high school, she is a 17-year-old sophomore at Colorado State University (CSU). While Jessica was homeschooled, she was able to pursue her hobbies and goals. She is a second-degree black belt in American Freestyle Taekwondo. She went to the National Championships in shooting and archery. As she continues to pursue greatness, it is evident to all who know her that she will change the world for the better. To contrast, one of the candidates says that she is running for president because her son has to “write papers to get an A but it’s not what he believes.” (53 seconds).
In the Laffey household, we teach our children how to write. Moreover, we teach our kids to write the truth, no matter the consequences. I do not believe in teaching them anything else.
Here is Jessica in the student newspaper.
My daughter is active in student government. She is considered a top student. She has done so much at a young age. She recognizes the importance of hard work and dedication. My wife and I have instilled these values from a young age and recognize how she has grown to be a strong leader. Even now, she and her running-mate plan to enact laws to make the university a better place for students to learn and grow.
And we will keep going. As the band Casting Crowns sing, “we’ll sing until the whole world hears.”

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I would expect nothing less than excellence, honesty and achievement from the Laffey family. Teaching children the value and expectation of ongoing hard work, to think for themselves, to tell the truth so they can deal with the world as it is, and expecting excellence while working toward it to make it so, are traits instilled in the hard-working Laffey family. BRAVO! God bless you all. I wish Jessica the best of good fortune in her run for school vice president, and her dad the best of good fortune in his run for president of the U.S. of A. !!!
There's hope.😊❤ I love your children. It was always a joy to be with them in the kitchen at church. And we had fun too.😁
