Social Security--Let's have a debate!
I have the only plan that helps stops the stealing from the younger generation and takes the $61 Trillion unfunded liability to Zero. Let's stop the stealing.
I have been wrestling with this simple question: Is it important to have a policy? To give an example, former President Trump has a policy on Social Security: He has stated that he will never touch it. Senator Rick Scott also has a policy: He says that all Federal programs will sunset every five years, meaning that Social Security could be cut. Even Bernie Sanders has a policy. Personally, I do not like it, but at least he has one. However, recent events have shown that candidates for President are not looking at the hard-hitting issues. The best example is Nikki Haley.
Ms. Haley has announced her campaign for President. I will be blunt by saying that her website is as full as her list of ideas for fixing this country: It is empty. There are no policies, no issues that she is passionate about, no nothing. There is nothing on her website except for a donation option. All that voters know is that she has stated that Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid should be cut from the budget.
In a recent The Hill article, it states that former President Trump has gone after Ms. Haley for her support of cutting both Medicare and Social Security. However, she has nothing to say against his accusations; nothing that could make her a viable candidate in anything more than a famous name. It is truly only a name. She has proven that she has nothing to say. Â
Look at her website at NikkiHaley.com. Compare it to mine, at SteveLaffey.com. I take a close look at the hard-hitting issues that plague our country, and I solve every one of them. But if you take a look at Ms. Haley’s page, what do you see? Zip, nada. A complete zero on any issue, most telling being that of Social Security. Ms. Haley does nothing but ask for money. I put it to you, the average citizen: Who would you rather have in office?
I have a complete policy on Social Security. I am not an inventor, but I adopted the policy of the foremost expert on Social Security, Dr. Larry Kotlikoff. I listed it on my website. This plan takes the 61 trillion dollars of unfunded liability to zero. This is $61 trillion that is about to bankrupt our country. I have a way to solve it. Now, I would like to compare plans with other Presidential candidates.
As previously stated, I have a plan to directly confront this staggering debt. Ms. Haley’s plan is basically nonexistent. Former President Trump’s plan is financially immoral. Senator Scott’s plan is designed to help Democrats attack Republicans. Senator Sanders' plan can never be put into effect, but at least he has an idea. My plan is logical and sound, and it can happen.
My fellow Americans, we have run out of time. The other candidates before you are running a campaign of smiles, platitudes, and lies. The simple truth is that these politicians are not out for your best interest, nor do they want to actually change things for the better. I have had enough of letting those without the financial knowledge to run a country run the average person into the ground. This is the time to fight back against the norm of empty words and promises. As people who love this country, we must come together so that we can fix the many things that are broken. I have a way to do that, while other candidates do not. Read the issues stated on my website. Realize that my plan is sound. Let us work together to make the future a bright one for our children.
