10:50 or so…Small Business startups get $50,000 in Deductions—Let’s go!!
Who cares about another $20 Billion of waste to taxpayers, or the potential for abuse, or fairness to existing companies, or making the tax code more complicated or whether this is effective use of your tax money. Sounds like the PPP program all over again—of course. Screw the people who just opened a business this year—of course.
At 7:00 Oppose Nippon Steel purchase of U.S. Steel? Of course! Never mind that Japan is our greatest ally (along with UK and Australia), never mind that the steel plants are in the USA and not going back to Japan (kind of heavy!), never mind that U.S. Steel can’t make the improvements (lack of money!) that Nippon Steel can etc..
Despite the following facts…
Investment in Infrastructure: Nippon Steel has promised to invest an additional $1.3 billion in U.S. Steel's legacy assets, on top of a previously announced $1.4 billion, bringing the total investment to $2.7 billion. This includes $1 billion for the Mon Valley Works in Pennsylvania and $300 million for the Gary Works in Indiana.
Extended Operational Life: The investments are aimed at extending the operational life of key facilities. For example, revamping the blast furnace at Gary Works is expected to extend its life by up to 20 years.
Job Security and Creation: Nippon Steel has committed to ensuring that the Mon Valley Works remains viable, providing jobs for future generations of steelworkers in Pennsylvania. The company has also promised no layoffs or plant closures until at least September 2026 under certain conditions.
Improved Competitiveness: The upgrades are expected to increase the production of high-grade steel, enhancing the competitiveness of U.S. Steel in the global market.
Strengthening American Steel Industry: Nippon Steel argues that the acquisition will make U.S. Steel, and the American steel industry as a whole, stronger and more globally competitive.
American Management: Nippon Steel has promised that U.S. citizens will make up the majority of the board of directors and will form the foundation of the management team at U.S. Steel.
Both candidates will continue to placate a small amount of people and ignore the general interest is the new public policy. It is called Fascism. But because of our education system, maybe no one knows what I am talking about.
